Describe your blog in 3 words
My blog? Firstly, it is known by a very strange username “layshiyuu” which is meaningful for me. Lay Shi Yu is a name of my best Chinese friend’s daughter. We were even like brothers. Then I named my blog like his daughter’s name just for memorializing him because I know that he couldn’t live without his only one daughter. He left Madagascar in 2007, and now we have almost no relation because he already lost almost of his English and/or Malagasy words which I taught him. And I also forget almost of the Chinese worlds that he taught me. But I think with my blog, I will never forget him. And I hope that he does the same.
Secondly, you probably know that my blog is always taking part to let you know much of BUEC: Barikadimy’s United English Club where the Tamatavians and indeed Tamatave’s University students go to enlarge their English. It is a place for English language practice as his slogan says: “Practice makes perfect”.
Thirdly, this blog doesn’t exist without FOKO Madagascar team with who I could get many experiences onto many different topics and get me in touch to many different kinds of people around the world. And this one is very important; with FOKO I have a new point of view of the environment impotence. That brought us into many activities to save this planet from this very dangerous climate change. I do hope that this initiative will continue over the years to come. You are up-to date of what happen in Tamatave through this blog: http://layshiyuu.wordpress.com
You’re getting a lot comments on your posts, can you tell us which topics are the most popular from your blog?
Yes you’re right to say that I got a lot comments on my posts because I realize that there is many people are becoming fans of my blog, and that’s because of my great pleasure to share what I only have, know and discovered to my friends. That rules very well because of my twitter, my facebook and my blog. In a one word: “An update brings somebody to comments”.
I started to blog on May, 3rd, 2008 with a very short article which I called: “Water is life”. You see, in term of blogger, I’m still too young because I’m only two years now of blogging. Despite my youth, my blog got 5,919 views, 92 posts, and 140 comments already. Not too bad. I still remember the busiest day of my blog when it was visited by 87 persons in only one day. That was on Friday, November, 28th, 2008 just one day after I posted “Why should we blog on Africa?” And I don’t know if that could be the most popular topics of my blog, but there are also very interesting topics which got five or even more comments such as:
- BUEC: Barikadimy’s United English Club
- Did you hear about the hunger crisis?
- Is it over?
- Small Bosco
- Green class
Can you tell us a little bit about the topic of your next post?
Yes, why not, I’m planning to post a very embarrassing topic which talks about a too young girl who is preparing for their lunch. I will probably call it: “Corn for lunch”. I was very surprised to see her to prepare these corns with her youngest brother. That might be at the end of this coming week, hope.
Well, thanks for the interview. I enjoyed it. Pass a wonderful week-end. Ciao Ciao!!!
